At Canvas Corp Brands, we encourage everyone to express themselves in the way they feel most comfortable. Whether it’;s painting, home decor, mixed mediababy pillow set, sewing…; it really doesn’;t matter! What matters is that you are having fun!

Collage…; for some it will be an easy, effortless form of artistic expression, for others…; the worst nightmare they’;d rather avoid than take part in. We have for you 3 very different takes on the genre –; none of them is the wrong way of doing it. All of them are they way to do it –; which is YOUR way!

‘;I adore Architextures. The elements are so beautiful, so full of dimension and incredibly easy to use! I used a decoupage technique to cover an 8×;8 CCB Chunky Stretched Canvas and added a Weathered Lady Statue Architextures element that I enhanced with a pair of Architextures Angel Wings. The two elements (sold separately) seem to go together perfectly. I finished the piece with one of my handmade paper feathers.’;

Tip from Tammy:One of my youtube subscribers suggested a sprinkle of baby powder on the back of the Architextures Angel Wing that drapes over the canvas –; this will keep it from sticking to other things!

So…; Don’;t be scared! Grab your paints and papers and have a go at your very own collage –; the best way to do it is to give it a go and see where it takes you.

Oh, and don’;t forget to have fun!

When you put your Christmas tree up each year, be honest — there are a few ornaments you look forward to hanging on the tree each year. They’re not those red and gold mass produced balls that you bought in a huge carton for filler on the tree, though. Instead, they’re the one that you made in second grade that your mother kept for you, or the one that your sister made in her new kiln at home. If you want to have the tree that everyone talks about, and if you want to give gifts that people will never forget, think about these homemade Christmas ornaments as gifts.

This quirky fascination, though, just may be the perfect symbol for their unique manner of riffing on stuffy tradition in unexpected ways. Parker and Goodwin tend to channel their love of traditional style into spaces that feel unexpectedly cool. Since starting their own firm, Fettle, in 2013—after working together for hospitality master Martin Brudnizki— they’ve brought a fresh, layered look to the likes of the Hoxton hotel in Portland, Oregon, and London’s Moncks—and customers are loving the easy elegance. “We want our projects to feel added to over time,” says Goodwin, “not designed to within an inch of their lives.”
